- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Luminous Dentistry is a highly decorative day spa masquerading as a Dental Practice. There may be a dentist in there somewhere, but blink and you'll miss him. I attended for a routine clean and scale, and walked out an hour later having not had a clean and scale. I did watch a movie wearing headphones, smelt some scented candles, played with an ipad and experienced an uninvited 360 degree scan of my head. I got the hard sell on all of the services offered, and some lovely chats with some perfectly coiffed dental assistants. I left with five more appointments booked in, a bill in excess of $400 (not sure what for- perhaps it was the check up and the 360 scan -neither of which I had requested) and NO CLEAN OR SCALE. The tactic is to seduce you with sweet smelling candles and breathy conversation- perhaps in an attempt to help you forget you are actually at the dentist. Well if that is what you are after then you'll certainly have an experience.
